Hey Fam!

There were so many things that happened last week.  I'll just give ya the highlights.  And can I say, what an amazing way to end a full-time mission.  First of all Wayne was baptized!!!!!  It was so cool and the Spirit was so strong.  The Elders in our district did the baptism.  It was small baptism, but it was so good for Wayne.  And everyone that came was so helpful in helping him with the baptism.  And his confirmation was so cool too!!!  It was such a blessing for me and Sister Carlson to be able to teach him.  He is so much more talkative now and is more positive about life.  This brother may be 71, but he truly has a strong spirit inside of him.  And he is a son of God.  Then that night we went to the General Womens' Conference at the conference center!  It was so good.  And I was able to see some of my old companions and other sisters in the mission.  The Spirit was so strong at the meeting.  I loved it.  I loved how it just focused on us remembering who our Father is.  And that we are daughters in His kingdom.  I love it.  Then Sunday, I had a total shock by having family in Utah come to one of my wards for sacrament meeting.  That was so weird.  But fun too!  Everyone has grown up so much!  Oh, and in sacrament meeting Sister Carlson and another sister in the ward played the viola to "A Child's Prayer" and I accompanied them.  It sounded so good!  It was fun to do that!  Then today we went to the SLC temple!  So needed!  I love being there and feeling the peace and the Spirit that is there.  Tonight will be departing testimony meeting and then sleepover at the Mission Home, and then tomorrow morning going to the airport.  It's so weird to think that 18 months of serving the Lord full-time is ending.  I can't believe it's here already.  I guess time flies when you love what you are doing.  I am just so grateful to my Father in Heaven for giving me this opportunity to serve Him.  Through this amazing ride of my journey in life, I have learned so much.  I have come to know my Heavenly Father.  I know that I am His daughter.  That He loves me.  That He is always there for me.  That He has been here with me through every moment of my life and especially since I've been on my mission.  I have come to know Jesus Christ as my older brother.  He is my friend.  He is there when I feel so alone.  I have seen how Jesus Christ is "the light".  He has been my light, when I have felt so lost and alone.  But He is there.  I know that through the blood of our Savior that we can be cleansed from sin.  Repentance is an amazing thing!  It invites us to change!  And to change our heart.  I love that.  I am so grateful that Heavenly Father gives us second chances.  That He loves us no matter what!!!!

This video is when Jesus Christ invites His future apostles to come follow Him and He will make them fishers of men.  We must first come unto Christ in our own life.  Become converted to the Lord.  And then we will be able to help others along the way to be able to know who Christ is as well.  I have been so blessed, not only to be able to teach people about Christ and invited them to follow Him.  But I have been blessed with others during my mission, that have invited me to come unto Christ.  And have helped me to develop a deeper relationship with Him.  This has been an amazing ride.  And the journey isn't over.  I love my Lord, my Savior and King.

This week was good.  Did more exchanges which was fun.  Sister Quiles came with me to my area on Wednesday!  it was so much fun to hang around with her again!  I miss that girl!  But the cool thing that happened this week!  We went to visit Wayne and he wants to be baptized!!!!  We didn't even ask him.  When we went to visit him, he just said, I want to be baptized!  What an amazing miracle from God!  He is really looking forward to being baptized!  So we are planning things for this weekend.
So it's getting down to the end of serving here full time as a missionary in utah.  It has been the best experience of my life.  And worth leaving the comforts of home and things that I thought were important and necessary, when I've learned that things like that don't matter.  What matters it what you think of yourself and what God thinks of you.  Nothing else matters.

Video to help us to remember to come unto Christ.  Because He can help us with ANYTHING we are going through.  We just remember to come unto Him.

Sister Marlow

Hey Fam!

This week was so busy!  We had zone conference and then the mission conference with Elder and Sister Perry.  It was so good!  And it was great to be able to say goodbye to all the missionaries and companions that I've served with.  It was so sad to say goodbye!  And I also did exchanges with 3 companionships this week!  Holy Cow, it was a lot.  I first went out with Sister Harrelson.  She is 3 weeks out and in spanish assignment.  She did so well with her Spanish!  And it was so much fun!  Then I went with Sister Mann.  She is in Nepali assignment.  I had someone give me a Nepali name.  It's Puja.  Which means prayer!  Way cool!  And Sister Mann taught me how to tell people my name in Nepali!  I can't remember it right now.  But it was way fun!  And their translator Dulga came with us.  She is 13 and has been a member for about 2 years.  Her family went to the temple last year!  Awesome!  And then I went on an exchange with Sister Schwarz.  They don't have a car, so we did walking.  We were able to talk to a lot of people on the street.  I haven't done that in so long.  It felt so good to testify and teach to just random people!  And it was fun!  We had a good time together.  And we both got sun burnt!  :)

Check out this video clip!  It shows the life of Jesus Christ as He demonstrates His attributes.  I love this!  It just reminds me how amazing our brother and Savior Jesus Christ is.  I know that as we try to be more like Him, that we will come to know Him better.  I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.  I love Him.  I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent His Son to the earth to suffer and die for us.  Love you all!!!  Have a great week!!!

Hey Fam!

We had an amazing day today!  We got to go to the Salt Lake City temple!  It was so great!  I loved being there and seeing all of my old companions!  Best thing ever!  And we had a really great week!  We visited and taught so many less actives!  It was awesome!  I love visiting less actives!  We did have a really cool experience with Wayne.  We were teaching him and he told us that he didn't want to get baptized until he read the whole Book of Mormon.  We told him that he doesn't have to read the whole book to know that it is true.  We asked him if he believed in God, and believed that God knows everything, that the Lord will tell him the Book of Mormon is true.  He then prayed right there and asked.  The Spirit was so strong.  After the prayer we asked him how he felt.  He said that he felt exhilarted!  And for an 80 year old man, only the Spirit can make you feel that way!  And then we invited him to be baptized.  He said yes to March 8th.  We were so excited and so happy that he would agree to make that promise with the Lord and be baptized!  This was truly a miracle.  But on Friday the district leader went to do his baptismal interview and Wayne said he didn't want to be baptized.  We went to talk to him and he again said that he didn't want to be baptized.  And he didn't want to meet with us anymore.  He was saying that his health couldn't do it.  But we reassured him that he could.  He still said no.  It was really sad and depressing.  But he makes his own choices.  We can't make him be baptized.  We can only invite.  In the Lord's time, he'll get baptized.  We also gave talks yesterday.  It was good.

Watch this Mormon message about things that matter most!  It's awesome.  I was thinking about how life can be so full of just stuff.  And we look past the things that are awesome and we don't enjoy what's in front of us.  We have to find joy in our journey.  And know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always there to help us up in our journey.  We must just look to them for help instead of carrying it all ourselves.  Love you lots!  Have a great week!

Love,
Sister Marlow
Dear Family,

This is gonna be short.  Ran out of time!  Sorry.  We had an okay week.  Met with lots of less actives.  Wayne came to church again.  And the branch president gave us another referral for a lady at another rest home!  Woot!  So we are excited to find these people to teach.  Weather has been amazing!  So nice and sunny.  We went walking a couple of days this past week.  It's been nice.  And I'm loving the missionaries in my zone!  We went bowling last week for pday.  It was fun!

Scripture for the week!!!

Mark 6:55-56

55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

These people had so much faith that they went looking for Jesus Christ to come and heal them!  How awesome is that?  They didn't wait for Him to come to them.  We have to go to Christ to come to know who He is.  We have to act upon that little faith that we do have.  And He will heal us.  These people were waiting in the street just to touch the hem of His clothes!  What great faith!  Faith to be healed.

Have a great week!

Hey Fam!!!

This week has been a good one.  As you know, we had transfers.  And I got my new companion, Sister Carlson.  She is from New York.  About 30 minutes from the city.  She is way cute and loves being here and doing missionary work.  And she's WAY chill.  So that's really nice!  Our week was a good one!  We picked up a new investigator!  His name is Wayne.  He lives in a rest home.  He is in his 80s and has parkinsons.  We first met him on Wednesday.  He didn't say yes to baptism, but said he wanted to learn more.  We've gone to see him everyday this week and read the Book of Mormon with him and teach him.  He still hasn't said yes to baptism, but that's okay.  All in the Lord's time.  But something that was way cool!  We went to go visit him and he sat up, grabbed his Book of Mormon and began to read from it.  He didn't shake at all!  We read 2 Nephi 31 with him.  And he didn't shake!  Most of the time he is laying down on his bed and shaking because of the parkinsons.  But he was holding the Book of Mormon and wasn't shaking!!!!!  That's just a testimony to how powerful that book is!  The word of God is contained in it!!!!  Wayne also came to church yesterday!  They have a little branch at the rest home.  It's only about a 30 minute service where they sing hymns, have the sacrament and someone from one of the other wards comes and gives a short talk.  It was really great!  We are getting really busy with teaching in church!  So many people want us to help teach their classes and Family Home Evenings!  It's so great!  I love being part of the ward and actually getting to know the members!
Something else way cool!  The Excells came to visit me!  We went out to lunch!  I love them!  They are so awesome!  :)
The weather here is amazing!  I love it!  Too bad you all have that nasty snow, that should probably be here....  But it's fine, we can trade for this winter.

This link above is the video where Jesus Christ is tried by Caiaphas and Peter denies Jesus Christ.  This is what I read in my personal study today in Matthew.  Not only about these men that were horrible to the Savior.  But Peter denied Christ.  Sometimes I think we are a little hard on Peter.  Yes, he was an apostle of Jesus Christ.  Yes, he was by him all the time and with him when he taught the people.  Yes, Peter said he would not deny Christ.  But he did.  And then his reaction.  In the verse, it says that he wept bitterly.  There are times that we deny Christ.  Maybe not directly Him, but His commandments, His people, His blessings.  Even His Atonement.  It is our sins that keep us back.  And when we finally recognize what we have been doing, we weep bitterly as well.  We see that we are hurting not only ourselves, but others as well.  He is sad when we deny Him.  BUT, you know that Peter would never deny Christ after that experience.  And so it is with us.  When we repent, and forgive ourselves and other and seek that forgiveness from the Lord.  We come to know Jesus Christ even more.  We feel His atoning love and sacrifice for us.  And we never want to deny Him again.  Because we have come to know Him as our brother.  I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer.  He is my brother.  And I love Him so much.  Have a great week!

Dearest familia,

So it's transfer time again.  And Sister Quiles is leaving!!!!!  NOOOOOO!!!!  We were so sad.  Last night President Eberhardt called and asked me to train a new missionary.  So I'm training in my last transfer, and still sister training leader.  I don't know how it's all gonna work out.  But it will be fine.  I just hope my comp doesn't mind that I'm getting trunkie.  Yep.  And she'll be taking over the area.  She doesn't know that yet....  hehe.  Oh well.  It's gonna work out.  And we are gonna be helping anyone that needs us this next transfer.  It's just sad.  Sister Quiles and I got really close and we were having so much fun together.  But we knew it was a possibility because she's Spanish assignment as well.

We had a pretty fun week this week.  Visiting people and we had a fun Valentines' Day!  The day before we had interviews with President Eberhardt and Sister Eberhardt brought cookies for us to decorate.  We took a lot of fun pictures.  Then on Valentines' Day as a district we did a white elephant exchange!  It was so much fun!  I loved it!  We all laughed and had a good time together.  Later that night we ate at Dorcas's home.  She's from Kenya.  She made us some good food!  And gave us some sparkling apple cider!  It was so fun!

Matthew 18:3-4
"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Just shows that we as God's children must remember that we are children of God.  And by doing this we come closer to Him.  And we become more converted.  We must become like a little child.  And remember who our Father is.  And how much we rely upon Him for everything.  I am so grateful for Heavenly Father!  He loves us so much.  And even when we make mistakes, he still loves us.  He just wants us to do better and try again.

Check out this other video!!!

have a great week!!

Hey Family,

This week, was a week.  I'm sorry, as things get further and further along, I don't really have too much to say.  I'm still alive and so is my companion.  We are trying to find people to teach, daily thing.  One of the cool things I guess is that we met this less active lady, Christina.  She is in her late 50s and has been through a lot of things that have kept her from coming to church.  But she said that she really wants to come back to church.  And we encouraged her to do it!  We read Luke 15 and encouraged her to come back and that she can through the Savior.  She said she was coming to church on Sunday.  But she wasn't sure that her husband would come too.  But then when church started, she was there!  And her husband came too!!!!  It was so great to see them at church!  And we had two investigators come to church as well!!!  Yeah!!!  Church is the best!  Ever!

Hey!  Check out this cool video about a modern day prodigal son!  It's so good!!!

Sorry this isn't very long.  Don't know much to write anymore.  Just loving being a missionary.  Oh, yeah and they changed my release date, and I'm never coming home.  Just thought you oughta know!!!!  lol.  Love you!

Whoa Baby!
So this week has had so many UPS and downs....  Firstly, I got sick Wednesday night.  I was feeling bad that day, but I kept going because I was on exchanges with Sister Mann.  I had her come to my area to work because she is in a language program in her area which is Nepali (They teach the people from Nepal!  They have a branch here in Salt Lake!!!  So cool!!), and she's never experienced an English area.  But it was good.  She is from Georgia, and she's way cute and a really awesome missionary.  She taught me some words in Nepali.  But after we switched back, I started running a fever.  And it was high too.  I lost my thermometer, so I don't know exactly what it was, but it was high.  So then I went to bed.  And woke up even worse.  Later that morning, Sister Quiles called the Elders to have them come and give me a blessing!  Aren't priesthood blessings amazing!  It gave me a lot of comfort.  Especially about some things that I have been worried about.  Then I went back to bed.  We went out to work later that night.  We had a lesson with Francisco and his parents.  Francisco is a former investigator.  His family is Seventh Day Adventist.  We talked about some principles and doctrines of the gospel.  And read parts of the Bible.  The Dad was trying to make things contentious.  But Sister Quiles and I were very calm.  I guess it was because the Dad only spoke Spanish, and so Sister Quiles was translating for me.  But it ended up good.  Sister Quiles bore her testimony and testified that we were representatives of Jesus Christ here to help people come closer to Him.  The Spirit was so strong!  I was like, yeah!  That's my companion!  So proud of her!  She's doing so great.  She has made so much progress.  I hope we get to stay together next transfer.  We are really going up and down with the work here, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.  But we are learning and we are going to make a plan and set some goals.  It's gonna be great!  Oh, hey we had a baptism this weekend in Cottonwood Heights!  It was ABE!!!  There were 8 sister missionaries that were here since he began investigating the church!  Isn't that awesome!  He finally got baptized!!!  It was so cool to see him go into the water and be baptized by someone holding that priesthood authority of God!!  Oh, and I wasn't able to get a picture.  Sister Eberhardt took one and said she would post it on Facebook on the mission page!  So look it up there!

Scripture to look up!!! Mosiah 5:15!!!!

Have a great week!

Hey Family!

Well, this week had it's ups and it's downs.  I went to my first mission leadership training.  It was pretty cool.  We had training on how to do a Chapel Tour.  And to teach the Restoration while doing the chapel tour.  It was pretty cool.  But with training comes a lot of expectations and responsibilities.  And something else this week that I did was exchanges.  Really weird to have to do that.  I've never gone to another area for an over nighter.  So let me explain a bit.  As a Sister Training Leader I go and do exchanges with other sister companionships.  And then report back to their district and zone leaders and then to President Eberhardt.  So I went with another sister in another area.  And her companion went with Sister Quiles.  It was really good.  Fun to be in a different area and to see how I could best help this sister and her area in any way that I could.  I have another one this week too.  So we'll see how it goes!  The other thing that happened, Melissa got baptized!!!!!  It was an amazing baptism!  And I got to see Sister Kiser!!!!  It was so much fun.  We went on splits for the night.  Our comps went with each other.  The Spirit was so strong at her baptism.  I love going to baptisms!!!  They are the best!  She was so happy and so excited.  All of the sisters that taught her got to bear their testimonies.  I went first.  I could feel the Spirit so strong.  It was so amazing.  I feel so blessed to be a missionary.  I feel so blessed that I was able to be apart of Melissa learning about the gospel and then making that covenant with the Lord and following that example that Jesus Christ has set for all of us.  It is so amazing.  I love being a missionary.  I love being able to bear my testimony of the things that I know are true.  I know my Savior lives!  That He loves me!  I know that I have a Heavenly Father that knows me perfectly.  He knows who I can become.  He knows my divine potential.  I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.  It is another testament of Jesus Christ.  And that Joseph Smith was called by God to be a prophet and that the gospel and church of Jesus Christ is restored upon the earth today.  That Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today.  And he leads and guides this church through revelation from God.  I know that the priesthood power is upon the Earth today.  And that it is only through those ordinances performed by the proper priesthood authority of God that we can receive those ordinances for our salvation.  What a blessing that it is to be here on the earth today when the fullness of the gospel is on the earth!  I love this gospel!  Thank you everyone for allowing me to have this opportunity to come closer to Christ by serving my brothers and sisters!  I love it!  A mission is totally worth the sacrifice if it means coming closer to your Savior!  Have a great week!

Sister Marlow

  FAMILY!!!!
So this week has been a good one!  We taught 13 less actives this week!!!!  And we picked up a new investigator!!!!  woot!  woot!!!  It was a really good week!  It's been awesome getting to know more people and finding my way around South Salt Lake!  Still trying to figure things out!  But I know that going out and being obedient and working hard, you find miracles!!!  This weekend we had a lot of cancellations!  But we were able to find the people that needed us!  We met with this lady and she's been inactive for a really long time.  We talked to her and visited with her.  She was the one that told us why she was inactive.  I testified to her and we all cried!  The Spirit was so strong!  I love being a missionary!  I know that there are so many people out there that just need to feel the love of our Heavenly Father and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ!  Oh, and I read these verses in the Bible!  So good!  We just have to remember that sometimes we have to give up good things for the best things!  Sorry it's so long, it didn't paste it right!

16 ¶And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have aeternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none agood but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into blife, keep the ccommandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no amurder, Thou shalt not commit badultery, Thou shalt not csteal, Thou shalt not bear dfalse witness,
19 aHonour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt blove thy cneighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be aperfect, go and sell that thou hast, and bgive to the cpoor, and thou shalt have dtreasure in heaven: and come and efollow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had agreat possessions.
23 ¶Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a arich man shall bhardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a arich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 aBut Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are bpossible.
27 ¶Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the aregeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, bjudging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath aforsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my bname’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit ceverlasting life.

Hey Fam!
So, can you guess where I'm at?????  You'll never guess.  Park City?  Wyoming?  Kamas?  Nope!  I'm in South Salt Lake!  I'm white washing (which means that neither I nor my comp were in the area the previous transfer.), 2nd transfer training, and sister training leader.  And I now get to drive a 2014 Chevy Cruize!  Whoa!  So overwhelmed.  This is nothing like any area that I have ever served.  Everything is so different.  But changes are good.  I really feel like this area is going to prepare me to be a leader for future callings in my life.  It's awesome though because I have taken what I've learned from my other areas and I'll put it to good use!  I'm excited.  And so this stake only has 5 english speaking wards.  And so they split up the area.  We only have two wards and the Elders have 3 wards.  It's so crazy to be only working with 2 wards!  So my companion is Sister Quiles (pronouned key-less).  She is from New Jersey.  She has only been out for one transfer.  And she was called Spanish assignment, but this transfer is English.  So it's been good.  She's 19!  My first 19 year old comp!  She's really nice and really sweet.  It's just different teaching and training her the new things because we're working with the English wards.  This week we didn't have much to do.  Mostly contactly members, leadership, old investigators and current ones.  Trying to meet less actives and any one else that needs a hello from the sister missionaries.  In one ward we have an awesome ward mission leader.  The other ward doesn't even have a ward mission leader yet!  AH!!!  Not good!  But I guess we'll be doing a lot of the labor ourselves for a while.  We'll see what happens.  This is all really new for me.  It was a really stressful week.  But I'm learning.  This area has a lot of welfare and self-reliance needs.  And most of the leadership are all really young.  Which is like most of the rest of the world.....  I'm still getting lost all the time.  The grid thing is hard to get used to again.  I haven't had to do it since my first area!  So it was a while ago!  Hope you all are doing well.  Not much to report on for this week.  Hopefully more things will be happening!  Thanks for everything!  I know that the church is true!  That Heavenly Father knows who we are individually!  Always remember to pray to Him!  He loves all of us!

Check out this new mormon message!!!!

Hey Family!

So, I'm getting transferred.  Not sure where yet.  I'm so sad about it too!  But I'm so glad that Sister Stout is staying!  And I had a call from President Eberhardt last night.  He asked me to be a Sister Training Leader.  I was so surprised.  So a Sister Training Leader is one of the leaders in the mission for the sister missionaries.  And they go on 24 hour exchanges and help train the other sister missionaries.  And go to meetings with the other leaders in the mission.  And help out the sisters when they need help with companions, the work and etc.  So yeah.  It was so hard for me to go to sleep last night!  So many things going through my mind.  And I have to pack tonight!!!  I have so much stuff!!  Ah.  Not fun!  But I know that Heavenly Father knows where I need to be where I need to be.  So yeah.  Please pray for me!  I'm gonna need all the help I can get!  So this past week.  I was sick.  It was not good.  I'm still kinda recovering.  So yeah.  But this week we taught Melissa twice!  It was good.  She's been getting some not so nice things from her family about her getting baptized.  And she says she just wants to feel solid in her feelings about the gospel and the things that she's learning and that she feels about.  We reassured her that she is building her faith and it will come in time.  Please pray for her!  I'm so sad that I'm leaving!  I wanted to be here all the way up to her baptism!  But I'm totally coming back for her baptism!  I am so grateful that I have been able to serve here in Cottonwood Heights!  I have seen so many miracles and I have grown so much.  What a blessing it has been to teach Melissa and many of the others that I have been able to talk to.  Members, inactive members, and non members.  I have learned so much about myself and how to be a servant of the Lord.  And especially in this stake.  I have learned that member missionary work IS POSSIBLE!  That members and missionaries need to come together to make this happen.  I have seen that here in this stake!  How blessed I have been to serve here!  And especially to have family here!  I loved being at the Andersons!  It just made me feel at home!  Thanks!  I love you all!  Hope you have a great week!  Love you lots!

Sister Marlow
