Hey Fam!!!

This week has been a good one.  As you know, we had transfers.  And I got my new companion, Sister Carlson.  She is from New York.  About 30 minutes from the city.  She is way cute and loves being here and doing missionary work.  And she's WAY chill.  So that's really nice!  Our week was a good one!  We picked up a new investigator!  His name is Wayne.  He lives in a rest home.  He is in his 80s and has parkinsons.  We first met him on Wednesday.  He didn't say yes to baptism, but said he wanted to learn more.  We've gone to see him everyday this week and read the Book of Mormon with him and teach him.  He still hasn't said yes to baptism, but that's okay.  All in the Lord's time.  But something that was way cool!  We went to go visit him and he sat up, grabbed his Book of Mormon and began to read from it.  He didn't shake at all!  We read 2 Nephi 31 with him.  And he didn't shake!  Most of the time he is laying down on his bed and shaking because of the parkinsons.  But he was holding the Book of Mormon and wasn't shaking!!!!!  That's just a testimony to how powerful that book is!  The word of God is contained in it!!!!  Wayne also came to church yesterday!  They have a little branch at the rest home.  It's only about a 30 minute service where they sing hymns, have the sacrament and someone from one of the other wards comes and gives a short talk.  It was really great!  We are getting really busy with teaching in church!  So many people want us to help teach their classes and Family Home Evenings!  It's so great!  I love being part of the ward and actually getting to know the members!
Something else way cool!  The Excells came to visit me!  We went out to lunch!  I love them!  They are so awesome!  :)
The weather here is amazing!  I love it!  Too bad you all have that nasty snow, that should probably be here....  But it's fine, we can trade for this winter.

This link above is the video where Jesus Christ is tried by Caiaphas and Peter denies Jesus Christ.  This is what I read in my personal study today in Matthew.  Not only about these men that were horrible to the Savior.  But Peter denied Christ.  Sometimes I think we are a little hard on Peter.  Yes, he was an apostle of Jesus Christ.  Yes, he was by him all the time and with him when he taught the people.  Yes, Peter said he would not deny Christ.  But he did.  And then his reaction.  In the verse, it says that he wept bitterly.  There are times that we deny Christ.  Maybe not directly Him, but His commandments, His people, His blessings.  Even His Atonement.  It is our sins that keep us back.  And when we finally recognize what we have been doing, we weep bitterly as well.  We see that we are hurting not only ourselves, but others as well.  He is sad when we deny Him.  BUT, you know that Peter would never deny Christ after that experience.  And so it is with us.  When we repent, and forgive ourselves and other and seek that forgiveness from the Lord.  We come to know Jesus Christ even more.  We feel His atoning love and sacrifice for us.  And we never want to deny Him again.  Because we have come to know Him as our brother.  I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer.  He is my brother.  And I love Him so much.  Have a great week!

Dearest familia,

So it's transfer time again.  And Sister Quiles is leaving!!!!!  NOOOOOO!!!!  We were so sad.  Last night President Eberhardt called and asked me to train a new missionary.  So I'm training in my last transfer, and still sister training leader.  I don't know how it's all gonna work out.  But it will be fine.  I just hope my comp doesn't mind that I'm getting trunkie.  Yep.  And she'll be taking over the area.  She doesn't know that yet....  hehe.  Oh well.  It's gonna work out.  And we are gonna be helping anyone that needs us this next transfer.  It's just sad.  Sister Quiles and I got really close and we were having so much fun together.  But we knew it was a possibility because she's Spanish assignment as well.

We had a pretty fun week this week.  Visiting people and we had a fun Valentines' Day!  The day before we had interviews with President Eberhardt and Sister Eberhardt brought cookies for us to decorate.  We took a lot of fun pictures.  Then on Valentines' Day as a district we did a white elephant exchange!  It was so much fun!  I loved it!  We all laughed and had a good time together.  Later that night we ate at Dorcas's home.  She's from Kenya.  She made us some good food!  And gave us some sparkling apple cider!  It was so fun!

Matthew 18:3-4
"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Just shows that we as God's children must remember that we are children of God.  And by doing this we come closer to Him.  And we become more converted.  We must become like a little child.  And remember who our Father is.  And how much we rely upon Him for everything.  I am so grateful for Heavenly Father!  He loves us so much.  And even when we make mistakes, he still loves us.  He just wants us to do better and try again.

have a great week!!

Hey Family,

This week, was a week.  I'm sorry, as things get further and further along, I don't really have too much to say.  I'm still alive and so is my companion.  We are trying to find people to teach, daily thing.  One of the cool things I guess is that we met this less active lady, Christina.  She is in her late 50s and has been through a lot of things that have kept her from coming to church.  But she said that she really wants to come back to church.  And we encouraged her to do it!  We read Luke 15 and encouraged her to come back and that she can through the Savior.  She said she was coming to church on Sunday.  But she wasn't sure that her husband would come too.  But then when church started, she was there!  And her husband came too!!!!  It was so great to see them at church!  And we had two investigators come to church as well!!!  Yeah!!!  Church is the best!  Ever!

Hey!  Check out this cool video about a modern day prodigal son!  It's so good!!!

Sorry this isn't very long.  Don't know much to write anymore.  Just loving being a missionary.  Oh, yeah and they changed my release date, and I'm never coming home.  Just thought you oughta know!!!!  lol.  Love you!

Whoa Baby!
So this week has had so many UPS and downs....  Firstly, I got sick Wednesday night.  I was feeling bad that day, but I kept going because I was on exchanges with Sister Mann.  I had her come to my area to work because she is in a language program in her area which is Nepali (They teach the people from Nepal!  They have a branch here in Salt Lake!!!  So cool!!), and she's never experienced an English area.  But it was good.  She is from Georgia, and she's way cute and a really awesome missionary.  She taught me some words in Nepali.  But after we switched back, I started running a fever.  And it was high too.  I lost my thermometer, so I don't know exactly what it was, but it was high.  So then I went to bed.  And woke up even worse.  Later that morning, Sister Quiles called the Elders to have them come and give me a blessing!  Aren't priesthood blessings amazing!  It gave me a lot of comfort.  Especially about some things that I have been worried about.  Then I went back to bed.  We went out to work later that night.  We had a lesson with Francisco and his parents.  Francisco is a former investigator.  His family is Seventh Day Adventist.  We talked about some principles and doctrines of the gospel.  And read parts of the Bible.  The Dad was trying to make things contentious.  But Sister Quiles and I were very calm.  I guess it was because the Dad only spoke Spanish, and so Sister Quiles was translating for me.  But it ended up good.  Sister Quiles bore her testimony and testified that we were representatives of Jesus Christ here to help people come closer to Him.  The Spirit was so strong!  I was like, yeah!  That's my companion!  So proud of her!  She's doing so great.  She has made so much progress.  I hope we get to stay together next transfer.  We are really going up and down with the work here, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.  But we are learning and we are going to make a plan and set some goals.  It's gonna be great!  Oh, hey we had a baptism this weekend in Cottonwood Heights!  It was ABE!!!  There were 8 sister missionaries that were here since he began investigating the church!  Isn't that awesome!  He finally got baptized!!!  It was so cool to see him go into the water and be baptized by someone holding that priesthood authority of God!!  Oh, and I wasn't able to get a picture.  Sister Eberhardt took one and said she would post it on Facebook on the mission page!  So look it up there!

Scripture to look up!!! Mosiah 5:15!!!!

Have a great week!
