Well, it's a blizzard here in
Park City today. Mostly slushy snow. It might not stay too long, but
it has been snowing ALL day! How did you all enjoy General Conference?
It was amazing wasn't it? I absolutely loved it! I had so many
questions answered! I love that we have prophets and apostles and men
and women called of God to teach us the things the Lord needs us to
know. I loved hearing from them. I don't have my notes with me, but
they were all so good. I loved Elder Ballard's talk. And Elder Nelson,
way to bring it home!!! I loved how he talked about missionary work!!!!
And remember that we are all missionaries in our hearts! Even though
you don't wear a name tag, we are all disciples of Jesus Christ. Being
baptized into the church you promised to take upon His name. A part of
that is opening your mouth and sharing your feelings about the gospel.
And give the missionaries work to do! It was so great to be in the
conference center for the last session of conference! We were so close
to the front on the bottom floor! I'll send you the pictures. It was
fun being with the other missionaries in the mission as well. I talked
to Elder Denny who is serving in Draper asked me if my uncle owns Port
of Subs. I was like, yeah! He said that he asked him if he knew me,
and he did because we were in SoJo Zone my first two transfers. Then he
fed the Elders and they said that it was a blessing because their
dinner appointment had cancelled. :)
So
this week was pretty cool. Saturday was an awesome day. We went out
to work. Sister Summerhays felt like we needed to go see this less
active. She wasn't home, so we went to see this former investigator.
She lives in a neighborhood with town homes. So we pulled up and
outside I saw a man sitting on his front porch. The Spirit told me we
needed to talk to him. We were still sitting in the car, and we got a
couple of phone calls. Then the man went into his house. But I still
knew that we needed to talk to him. So we went and saw Lori the former
investigator. We invited her to download the Book of Mormon to her
iphone to listen to it on her way to work in the morning. She said we
would and then we left. We then went to knock on this man's door. His
name is Pete and he's in his 70s. It was so great to talk to him. We
gave him a Book of Mormon and he said that we could come back. He was
really grateful that we stopped by to talk to him. It was amazing to be
an instrument in the Lord's hands. I know that I may not be able to
influence everyone and get the whole state of Utah baptized, but I know
that I'm here to help with the Lord's work in anyway that I can!
Transfers
are on Wednesday. More than likely I won't be transferred But two
missionaries in my district might! And Sister Walker has completed her
mission and is going home! It's so sad. But to everything there is a
season! Hope you all have a great week! I can't wait to get the Ensign
and re read conference!
Love,
Sister Marlow
ps I love being a missionary! It's the bestest thing ever!
