Hey Family,

This week, was a week.  I'm sorry, as things get further and further along, I don't really have too much to say.  I'm still alive and so is my companion.  We are trying to find people to teach, daily thing.  One of the cool things I guess is that we met this less active lady, Christina.  She is in her late 50s and has been through a lot of things that have kept her from coming to church.  But she said that she really wants to come back to church.  And we encouraged her to do it!  We read Luke 15 and encouraged her to come back and that she can through the Savior.  She said she was coming to church on Sunday.  But she wasn't sure that her husband would come too.  But then when church started, she was there!  And her husband came too!!!!  It was so great to see them at church!  And we had two investigators come to church as well!!!  Yeah!!!  Church is the best!  Ever!

Whoa Baby!

So this week has had so many UPS and downs....  Firstly, I got sick Wednesday night.  I was feeling bad that day, but I kept going because I was on exchanges with Sister Mann.  I had her come to my area to work because she is in a language program in her area which is Nepali (They teach the people from Nepal!  They have a branch here in Salt Lake!!!  So cool!!), and she's never experienced an English area.  But it was good.  She is from Georgia, and she's way cute and a really awesome missionary.  She taught me some words in Nepali.  But after we switched back, I started running a fever.  And it was high too.  I lost my thermometer, so I don't know exactly what it was, but it was high.  So then I went to bed.  And woke up even worse.  Later that morning, Sister Quiles called the Elders to have them come and give me a blessing!  Aren't priesthood blessings amazing!  It gave me a lot of comfort.  Especially about some things that I have been worried about.  Then I went back to bed.  We went out to work later that night.  We had a lesson with Francisco and his parents.  Francisco is a former investigator.  His family is Seventh Day Adventist.  We talked about some principles and doctrines of the gospel.  And read parts of the Bible.  The Dad was trying to make things contentious.  But Sister Quiles and I were very calm.  I guess it was because the Dad only spoke Spanish, and so Sister Quiles was translating for me.  But it ended up good.  Sister Quiles bore her testimony and testified that we were representatives of Jesus Christ here to help people come closer to Him.  The Spirit was so strong!  I was like, yeah!  That's my companion!  So proud of her!  She's doing so great.  She has made so much progress.  I hope we get to stay together next transfer.  We are really going up and down with the work here, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.  But we are learning and we are going to make a plan and set some goals.  It's gonna be great!  Oh, hey we had a baptism this weekend in Cottonwood Heights!  It was ABE!!!  There were 8 sister missionaries that were here since he began investigating the church!  Isn't that awesome!  He finally got baptized!!!  It was so cool to see him go into the water and be baptized by someone holding that priesthood authority of God!!  Oh, and I wasn't able to get a picture.  Sister Eberhardt took one and said she would post it on Facebook on the mission page!  So look it up there!

Hey Family!

Well, this week had it's ups and it's downs.  I went to my first mission leadership training.  It was pretty cool.  We had training on how to do a Chapel Tour.  And to teach the Restoration while doing the chapel tour.  It was pretty cool.  But with training comes a lot of expectations and responsibilities.  And something else this week that I did was exchanges.  Really weird to have to do that.  I've never gone to another area for an over nighter.  So let me explain a bit.  As a Sister Training Leader I go and do exchanges with other sister companionships.  And then report back to their district and zone leaders and then to President Eberhardt.  So I went with another sister in another area.  And her companion went with Sister Quiles.  It was really good.  Fun to be in a different area and to see how I could best help this sister and her area in any way that I could.  I have another one this week too.  So we'll see how it goes!  The other thing that happened, Melissa got baptized!!!!!  It was an amazing baptism!  And I got to see Sister Kiser!!!!  It was so much fun.  We went on splits for the night.  Our comps went with each other.  The Spirit was so strong at her baptism.  I love going to baptisms!!!  They are the best!  She was so happy and so excited.  All of the sisters that taught her got to bear their testimonies.  I went first.  I could feel the Spirit so strong.  It was so amazing.  I feel so blessed to be a missionary.  I feel so blessed that I was able to be apart of Melissa learning about the gospel and then making that covenant with the Lord and following that example that Jesus Christ has set for all of us.  It is so amazing.  I love being a missionary.  I love being able to bear my testimony of the things that I know are true.  I know my Savior lives!  That He loves me!  I know that I have a Heavenly Father that knows me perfectly.  He knows who I can become.  He knows my divine potential.  I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.  It is another testament of Jesus Christ.  And that Joseph Smith was called by God to be a prophet and that the gospel and church of Jesus Christ is restored upon the earth today.  That Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today.  And he leads and guides this church through revelation from God.  I know that the priesthood power is upon the Earth today.  And that it is only through those ordinances performed by the proper priesthood authority of God that we can receive those ordinances for our salvation.  What a blessing that it is to be here on the earth today when the fullness of the gospel is on the earth!  I love this gospel!  Thank you everyone for allowing me to have this opportunity to come closer to Christ by serving my brothers and sisters!  I love it!  A mission is totally worth the sacrifice if it means coming closer to your Savior!  Have a great week!

  FAMILY!!!!

So this week has been a good one!  We taught 13 less actives this week!!!!  And we picked up a new investigator!!!!  woot!  woot!!!  It was a really good week!  It's been awesome getting to know more people and finding my way around South Salt Lake!  Still trying to figure things out!  But I know that going out and being obedient and working hard, you find miracles!!!  This weekend we had a lot of cancellations!  But we were able to find the people that needed us!  We met with this lady and she's been inactive for a really long time.  We talked to her and visited with her.  She was the one that told us why she was inactive.  I testified to her and we all cried!  The Spirit was so strong!  I love being a missionary!  I know that there are so many people out there that just need to feel the love of our Heavenly Father and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ!  Oh, and I read these verses in the Bible!  So good!  We just have to remember that sometimes we have to give up good things for the best things!  Sorry it's so long, it didn't paste it right!

 29 And every one that hath ^aforsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my ^bname’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit ^ceverlasting life.

Hey Fam!

So, can you guess where I'm at?????  You'll never guess.  Park City?  Wyoming?  Kamas?  Nope!  I'm in South Salt Lake!  I'm white washing (which means that neither I nor my comp were in the area the previous transfer.), 2nd transfer training, and sister training leader.  And I now get to drive a 2014 Chevy Cruize!  Whoa!  So overwhelmed.  This is nothing like any area that I have ever served.  Everything is so different.  But changes are good.  I really feel like this area is going to prepare me to be a leader for future callings in my life.  It's awesome though because I have taken what I've learned from my other areas and I'll put it to good use!  I'm excited.  And so this stake only has 5 english speaking wards.  And so they split up the area.  We only have two wards and the Elders have 3 wards.  It's so crazy to be only working with 2 wards!  So my companion is Sister Quiles (pronouned key-less).  She is from New Jersey.  She has only been out for one transfer.  And she was called Spanish assignment, but this transfer is English.  So it's been good.  She's 19!  My first 19 year old comp!  She's really nice and really sweet.  It's just different teaching and training her the new things because we're working with the English wards.  This week we didn't have much to do.  Mostly contactly members, leadership, old investigators and current ones.  Trying to meet less actives and any one else that needs a hello from the sister missionaries.  In one ward we have an awesome ward mission leader.  The other ward doesn't even have a ward mission leader yet!  AH!!!  Not good!  But I guess we'll be doing a lot of the labor ourselves for a while.  We'll see what happens.  This is all really new for me.  It was a really stressful week.  But I'm learning.  This area has a lot of welfare and self-reliance needs.  And most of the leadership are all really young.  Which is like most of the rest of the world.....  I'm still getting lost all the time.  The grid thing is hard to get used to again.  I haven't had to do it since my first area!  So it was a while ago!  Hope you all are doing well.  Not much to report on for this week.  Hopefully more things will be happening!  Thanks for everything!  I know that the church is true!  That Heavenly Father knows who we are individually!  Always remember to pray to Him!  He loves all of us!

Hey Family!

So, I'm getting transferred.  Not sure where yet.  I'm so sad about it too!  But I'm so glad that Sister Stout is staying!  And I had a call from President Eberhardt last night.  He asked me to be a Sister Training Leader.  I was so surprised.  So a Sister Training Leader is one of the leaders in the mission for the sister missionaries.  And they go on 24 hour exchanges and help train the other sister missionaries.  And go to meetings with the other leaders in the mission.  And help out the sisters when they need help with companions, the work and etc.  So yeah.  It was so hard for me to go to sleep last night!  So many things going through my mind.  And I have to pack tonight!!!  I have so much stuff!!  Ah.  Not fun!  But I know that Heavenly Father knows where I need to be where I need to be.  So yeah.  Please pray for me!  I'm gonna need all the help I can get!  So this past week.  I was sick.  It was not good.  I'm still kinda recovering.  So yeah.  But this week we taught Melissa twice!  It was good.  She's been getting some not so nice things from her family about her getting baptized.  And she says she just wants to feel solid in her feelings about the gospel and the things that she's learning and that she feels about.  We reassured her that she is building her faith and it will come in time.  Please pray for her!  I'm so sad that I'm leaving!  I wanted to be here all the way up to her baptism!  But I'm totally coming back for her baptism!  I am so grateful that I have been able to serve here in Cottonwood Heights!  I have seen so many miracles and I have grown so much.  What a blessing it has been to teach Melissa and many of the others that I have been able to talk to.  Members, inactive members, and non members.  I have learned so much about myself and how to be a servant of the Lord.  And especially in this stake.  I have learned that member missionary work IS POSSIBLE!  That members and missionaries need to come together to make this happen.  I have seen that here in this stake!  How blessed I have been to serve here!  And especially to have family here!  I loved being at the Andersons!  It just made me feel at home!  Thanks!  I love you all!  Hope you have a great week!  Love you lots!

Hey Fam!!!

It was so great to see you and talk to you on Christmas!!!!  I loved it sososososo much!  You all look so great and so happy!  I miss hugs from you!  But it's all good.  I got a lot of work to do in the limited amount of time left! So this week was a little slow because of Christmas.  But it was good.  It's kinda hard to think about this week, because I just talked to you last week!  Still can't believe that!  But we have transfers next week.  I hope I don't go!  I wanna finish teaching Melissa up till she gets baptized!  We'll see what happens.  You never really know with transfers!  AH!  But we have appointments this week and planning out Melissa's baptism for the end of the month!  Not sure if we are doing anything for New Years as a zone.  Or if we even have to be in earlier.  They haven't told us yet.  But some cute families have invited us over for that night.  I'm sorry this is so short.  But I love you!  I am so grateful for families!  I love seeing families come to church together and I love teaching families.  And that is what the gospel of Jesus Christ helps and blesses us as families!  I am so grateful that we have the priesthood power upon the earth today.  That we have beautiful and glorious temples built throughout the world.  And that we have those temples so that families can be sealed, bound, connected together.  Not just for our life on earth.  But together after we die!  I love that!  I am so grateful for that!  I love my Savior.  I know He lives!

I love this video!  Good one for Starting off a new year!  Something we did in the South mission was VGP.  Vision, Goal, Plan.  This helps me to plan out what I visualize and what I want to happen.  Goals to make that vision possible.  And then plans to reach that goal and how to measure my progress.  It's really hard to get into the swing of it.  But it's really good!  Try it!  Love you!
